ValhallaGuide is an unofficial calculator for Viking Rise players. We collect as little as we can. This page explains what happens to your data when you use the site.

1. Data stored on your own device

If you do not have an account, what you do on the site stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Your browser keeps things like:

• Your language choice.
• Your calculator settings, such as season and tribe assist.
• The values you have typed into the calculator, so they are still there when you reload the page.
• Your license key, so you do not have to type it again.
• Small practical things, such as which tab you had open and how far you had scrolled.

You can delete all of it at any time by clearing your browser's site data. If you create an account, most of it is also copied to our server so you can get it back later. Section 3 explains what.

2. Data our server handles

The calculator does the maths on our server, so the numbers you type in are sent there to be computed. This happens while you type, so there is no button to tap. They are only game numbers, such as a troop tier or a building level, with nothing personal in them.

To check your access, your license key is sent to our server to be verified. Each device is given a random number so we can tell your devices apart, and we save a short name for it, such as Chrome on Windows, so you can recognise your own devices in a list.

Our server runs on Cloudflare. Like any website, your IP address is handled briefly for security and to stop abuse, such as limiting too many requests. We do not keep IP addresses, and we do not sell any data.

3. Your account

You only have an account if you create one. Without one, nothing in this section applies to you.

When you create an account we store the username you choose, your password (see below), a display name, the date your access ends, and the random number and short name of each device you are logged in on, up to 3.

We never see your password. Your browser turns it into an unreadable value before it is sent, and we scramble that again with a secret of our own before saving it. Nobody who obtained a copy of our database could read your password from it.

Your account also keeps a copy of your calculator values and settings, so you can get them back on another device or after clearing your browser. They are only ever used to give them back to you.

We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Message us on the community Discord or Telegram and we will remove your display name, your password, your saved values, your device list and your share links. Two things stay: your username, so nobody else can take it, and the record that a license key was used, so the same key cannot be used twice.

4. Sharing your progress

Nothing is copied to our server until you create a share link yourself.

When you create one, the levels you have marked, the numbers you have typed into that page, and the name you type into the box are copied to our server, and anyone with the link can open it. Cost numbers are never included. If you are logged in, the link also records which account made it, and that is never shown to anyone who opens it.

Your browser also draws a small preview image with your name on it, so the link shows a picture when it is posted in a chat app. That image is stored on our server and anyone who has the link can see it.

Each link counts how many times it has been opened, and that count is shown to you and to anyone who opens the link.

A free link lasts 1 day and then deletes itself. With Full Access, a link stays until you delete it. You can delete any of your links yourself at any time from the Share window.

5. Visit statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see general visit numbers. This service uses no cookies, does not track individuals, and does not collect personal information. We only see totals, not who you are.

6. Third-party services

We use SociaBuzz for Full Access purchases and for donations. When you choose to buy, you are sent to a SociaBuzz page. Any payment and information you give there is covered by SociaBuzz's own privacy policy, not ours.

We do not show ads and we do not use ad trackers.

7. Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. The browser storage described in section 1 only remembers your settings and your access. It does not follow you around the internet.

8. Contact and your rights

Without an account, everything is on your device. Clear your browser's site data and it is gone.

With an account, clearing your browser logs you out but does not delete the account. Message us on the community Discord or Telegram and we will delete it. For any other question about your data, reach us the same way.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date above will change when we do.
